Read and Feed - The book to be read and discussed at the April 25 Read and Feed is Calico Joe by John Grisham.  This novel was inspired by the 1920's baseball tragedy of New York Yankee Carl Mays pitch to the Cleveland Indian's Ray Chapman that hit and killed him.  Grisham's Calico Joe is about a picther in 1973 who throws a near fatal "beanball" pitch and it's aftermath 30 years later.  The Chicago Sun Times calls this novel a heartwarming read.  The hosts for this event will be Linda and Ray DeShano.  Reservations are required for this event due to limited seating.  Cost is only $15.

May Artist Reception - James Bledsoe will be exhibiting his works at the MACK for the Month of May.  He is a fabulous local artist who works in many different mediums.  His drawings of various local landmarks and scenes are fabulous.  You may recall his exhibit at the Red Rooster of some amazingly intricate wood carvings.  This exhibit will feature Women of McCormick.  Plan to join us at the MACK on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to visit with James and view his exhibit.
